Stockwell — inventory that keeps watch
Stockwell is inventory management software for small retail shops. It keeps track of what you have in stock, warns you before you run out, and helps you reorder from your vendors.
What it does
- Tracks stock levels for every product you sell.
- Syncs those counts automatically with your point-of-sale system (Lightspeed or Square), or imports them from a spreadsheet.
- Alerts you when a product drops below its reorder threshold.
- Drafts a purchase order to the right vendor, which you review and send.
- On the Pro plan, can place those vendor orders on its own within a spending budget you set, with a review window to cancel any order before it goes out.
- Also handles staff scheduling for the same shop, under the name Shiftwell.
Sending purchase orders from your own email
A purchase order is an email to a vendor. By default Stockwell sends it for you, showing your business name. You can optionally connect your own Gmail or Microsoft 365 mailbox so the order is sent from your address instead — your vendors then recognize the address they already do business with, the order appears in your Sent folder, and the vendor's reply threads with it in your inbox.
If you connect Gmail, Stockwell requests permission to send mail only. It cannot read, search, or delete your email, and it requests no permission that can. Connecting a mailbox is entirely optional and can be undone at any time from Settings.
